A Large Private Bank with a Presence in more than 600 locations across India

Background

Accel Management, known for its expertise across various business domains, decided to expand into the technology sector. As part of this strategic shift, Accel targeted new business opportunities by participating in business conferences and exhibitions. During this period, Accel engaged with an international brand specializing in V-SAT (Very-small-aperture terminal) services, which has over 15 years of operational experience in India.

Challenges Faced by Client: 

  1. Different products were purchased by different branches and no scientific approach was followed while deciding the printer specifications. This resulted in multiple makes/Models of MFPs/ Printers. The client had been purchasing a wide variety of toners from different suppliers locally and depending on different brands for support.
  2. No uniform rates for the consumables, no control on the yield of toners, no visibility to IT team, and no single Ownership for the overall support.

Solution Provided by Accel:

  1. Collected Branch wise, MFP/printer-wise print volume details for 6 months 
  2. Solution architect prepared a detailed plan to minimize the number of MFP Models, recommended models in line with the print volumes and proposed an integrated print management solution to the client.   
  3. POC was demonstrated to the client for the managed print solution as well as MFP models recommended. 
  4. Basis the customer inputs final print management solution was arrived.
  5. In a faced manner existing printers/MFPs have been replaced. All printers have been monitored through a brand agnostic print management solution
  6. After all 2 years, the entire fleet of MFPs consist of only three MFP models and the client has complete visibility to the print volumes by user/branch/ MFP 
  7. Imprest toners have been placed at all client locations so that no interruption to client operations replenishment stock for consumed toners is done automatically through Print Management Solution

Outcome:

  1. Number of Printers was reduced by 32%
  2. Printing Costs were substantially reduced due to complete visibility and controls
  3. High-Quality prints
